Daily MotivationAdversity Is Not So Bad
Where did the motivation come from? The key was creative thinking and the desire to find a positive benefit out of a depressing situation. The answer was offering flexible work schedules in lieu of time off. Many staff opted to work a four day work week, allowing for a day off. Best of all, vacation time was saved. Employees continued accumulating time off for Holidays and family time. Better yet, each employee still provided a full production week. Everybody was happy and motivated to complete the work. The lesson learned: Do not let adversity stifle motivation. There will always be unpleasant or challenging situation. The key is how you respond to them. Use challenges and adversity as opportunities to find a positive spin. Once you find it, excitement will grow, spurring motivation. |
