How to Win An Argument

How to Win An Argument Tips, Quotes, Sayings

Wondering how to win an argument? Before you read more, answer this question: what is it you really want to gain?

I don't know about you; but arguing with someone can turn brutal. Hurt feelings surface, emotional damage is caused, and relationships suffer. All for what purpose.... so that someone can be right? Even if you argue with someone who is not important to you, is he or she really worth the effort?

I say no.

Following I share with you several of my favorite tips and quotes about how to deal with arguments so that you really can win.

How to Win An Argument - 3 Valuable Tips

1. Realize that no one wins an argument when one person has to be right and the other wrong. All this does is cause resentment, hurt feelings, bitterness, and stubbornness. So, change your tactics. Focus on getting the best outcome.

2. Vow to hold your emotions in check. Focus on listening to the other person's point of view. Note, I didn't say agree. Just hear what he or she has to say. You will use it for the next tip.

3. Don't lash out. Instead, deflect and defuse. An argument can't hurt you unless to accept the insults and attacks being dished. The way to avoid this is to turn the tide and let the other person eat his/her own emotional turmoil and displeasure.

While it isn't always easy, the effort is well worth it. Use the previous tips on how to win and argument and let the following argument quotes tickle your funny bone. Enjoy!
