Real Life Motivational StoriesFollowing are real life motivational stories from people who have faced some of the toughest challenges life has to offer. I share these stories here to provide you examples of people who have overcome, who do keep striving, who have decided not to be victims, and who have bravely shared their experiences so others may benefit.
This is the first of three motivational stories. Let this story motivate you when your daily routine is changed and you face temporary discomfort that will lead to a positive life change. My Proudest DayMy proudest day is high school was when I decided to completed the last two years at evenign school, so I could hold a full-time job during the day. It was a difficult decision after having spent the last ten years doing nothing but being a student. There were home chores and weekend tasks. But to suddenly change that routine was uncomfortable. In fact, it was rather awkward, because I felt I was being taught the same subject matter over and over again. I was terribly bored. The night school students, mostly older adults, were boring also. Nevertheless, I was very proud of myself that I had the desire, courage, and patience to stay the course and graduate. Author ~ D. M.
This is the second of three motivational stories. Let this story inspire you not to live your life full of regrets. You were born with a purpose and meant to live each day fulfilling it. Use this story as inspiration to live an enriched life. My Hidden TalentIf I had to do it all over again, I'd pay more attention to my education and learning. I would have listened to my freshman algrebra teacher Mr. Church's advice and gone to college. I wouldn't have let things bother me so much, obesessing over them for decades. I would have taken the job offer at Goldwater in '64 headquarters and met Rich. I'd have listened to my inner voice and taken opportunities, living in Portugal for six months or indefinitely in Greece. I'd have drunk my way through France. I'd have never gotten married, or then I'd have listened to my grandmother, who a month before my wedding tried to tell me I didn't have to wed. Barring that, upoin returning from the honeymoon, I'd have gotten a divorce and run like hell to California. I'd have lived life more fully, saved money, flown first class more often, taken more chances. I'd have listened more, talked less, and loved more greatly. I'd have written my life in a notebook and become a writer sooner. I never knew my writing was my magic. Author ~ C. W
You only have one life. The great thing is it is never too late to try; to pursue your dreams; to keep going. The following motivation story is inspirational and real. Ponder the words. Use the lesson for your life. Doors OpenI've had a lot of doors slammed my face. In fact, Ive helped pull many of them shut. I'm several years into another decade, and I know there's no going back to where I started. Doctors are talking to me about high blood pressure, an aspirin a day, diet, and replacement therapy; but I know I've reached a new door in my life when I hear "at your age." A "senior momebnt" becomes a polite phrase for memory lapse. Eyeglasses a defense against smaller print. You see your hair colorist when too much gray shows. You get a senior discount at McDonald's for coffee. A lady got up on a bus to give me her seat. In reading the Help Wanted ads, the phrase "want people with youthful attitudes" jumps off the page. Geriotl starts to command your attention, and I peruse "Centrum Silver" vitamins. When asked my age I say "old enough to know better." I go to the omovies for the story and not the star. I don't mind being late anymore. I speak my mind with no apologies. I called my congressman's office and said, "Listen, Soony, I vote," to the young assistant. I'm beginning a new era in my life's journey where there are no more doors. It's a space of uncharted territory. I take a step forward. I'll draw my own map. Author ~ C. W I hope these motivational stories cause you to ponder and reflect on your own life. You have the opportunity to reap the benefits of others' life experiences. Do this. Use this as motivation to fuel your own actions for a more positive and successful life. Do you have a motivational story to share? Is so, please submit it here so that it can benefit others.
