Self Efficacy on MotivationDo You Believe It?How's your self efficacy? What is this you ask? This is your belief in your capacity for producing a desired result or effect in any given situation. Your perception towards your ability to successfully achieve a goal has a definite impact on your motivation. High Confidence - High MotivationFor example, if you strongly believe you can achieve a goal you will be extremely motivated to do so. Additionally, you will be inclined to take necessary risks if you believe there is a higher percentage for success. Here is something else to consider - when it comes to your motivation - if you strongly believe you will succeed, you will exert greater effort and persist for a longer period of time. Low Confidence - Lower MotivationOn the the other hand, if you are unsure of your ability to achieve a particular task or goal, you will not be as excited. Depending on your estimated chances for success, you may determine the goal is not worth the effort, or you may conclude that you can learn the necessary skills and then succeed. It depends on what you believe about your ability. The motivation lesson here is you will find the greatest levels of motivation and success when you focus on areas and beliefs you feel you have a greater opportunity to succeed.
