Starting my own Business

Ever since I was little, I have always been an Inventor. So when it came time to focus my studies towards a career, I choose Industrial Technology.

When I graduated college, I was all set to go to grad school, but as luck would have it, they canceled the program on me. I was not going to let that stop me from my goal of becoming my own boss. So I moved back home, got a day job, and set to work on my dream.

I was inspired by my son. Before I had him I had a desire to own my own business, but not the drive. I look at him and see hope, my future, and I want to make it the best I can for him.

I was also inspired by my graduation gift. My gift was in the form of a career councelor, who helped me to focus my efforts in the right way.

I now own my own small business developing iPhone applications. My first one is in store now; it’s called “Hindsight” and is a dollar. I continue to work my day job, but hopefully I can soon transition to making it my full job.

I learned a lot about startup companies and what it takes to get them going. It is so much work, but it was so rewarding when I was able to make my dream into a reality.

I also learned that if just have a dream, it will never happen until you actually make it happen. So just start!

I hope this will help you. I would have never taken the steps I needed to make this happen unless I held my breath and jumped in!
