The Kids Made Me Do It

by Jay Giordano
(Revere,MA USA)

All my life i was overweight and trying to fool myself. I thought I was a person who just loved food and there was nothing that could be done about that. One day i decided to serious about this when my oldest child asked me if I was going to have a heart attack someday.

So I began my 10th or so try at dieting and finally found a way. Stay inspired! Do it for someone other than yourself. Obviously I had already given up on myself judging by the way i looked so why would I think I wouldn't do it again.

My children gave me the motivation to lose over 40 pounds so far and I plan on continuing until I reached my goal of weighing 180 lbs. Keeping the weight off is difficult at first, but I learned portion control. I can actually eat a slice of pizza slowly and enjoy it slowly rather than stuff 8 slices in my mouth, barely taste it and feel gross after.

The key to weight loss success is to be inspired, do it for you, yes, but also have someone or something there to motivate you. Losing weight alone is not easy. My diet has been going on for about 13 weeks now and I have been averaging a few pounds per week.

My experience has been rapid weight loss in the beginning can lead to very easy overeating later in the diet process. Good luck and remember don't ever be afraid of needing help while trying to lose.
