This is why there is a billion dollar industry dedicated to providing tools and advice on how you should and can lose weight.

Therein lies the problem. You see, there are tons of advertisements and advice on dropping those pounds. They play to our emotions and desires to look and feel a certain way. The crust of it is.....there is no one-size-fits-all solution for anybody. We all have different likes and dislikes. Regardless, I want to you remember one thing as you embark on this endeavor.....keep your desire and efforts to lose weight FUN.

You have to go into this thing with the right mindset. Subsequently, achieving and maintaining your ideal weight is a lifestyle choice. Anyone who tries to convince you otherwise does not have your best interest at heart. What you need along with weight loss motivation is knowledge and planning. All in all, the weight loss motivation tips you use must keep your interest. If not....don't bother, because whatever it is you try will not work. So, again I stress the importance of fun and now.....interesting.

  • Self monitor. Keep a journal. There's no other way to track what you're putting in your mouth.
  • Fidget. A study published in the journal Science showed that those who fidgeted more often, changed posture frequently, etc weighed less than those who did not. This extra movement was termed NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis).

  • Know and Understand Your "Why."

As with any endeavor you tackle, you need to have a compelling reason for doing it if you want to keep up your motivation. In the beginning, it may be easy to decide why you want to lose weight. Maybe it's for a special ocassion, or because you want to feel better about yourself, or because you want to avoid potential health issues. Whatever the reason, it must be YOURS. If you want to be successful, you must do this for yourself. Otherwise, your motivation will disappear and you'll probably give up. Having trouble discovering your why? Then do this very simple exercise.

Grab a pen and a piece of paper and just start writing down all the reasons why you think you want to lose weight. The key is not to think about it. Just write. No matter how silly - write it down. Do this exercise for ten to fifteen minutes. Afterwards, you should have a list. Review your list carefully.

Once you understand your reasons for wanting to lose weight commit! Decide to stick with it. Decide to do your best.





  • Change your view about weight loss.

Whenever someone wants to lose weight dieting usually enters their thoughts. The best diet motivation for how to diet is this: Don't!. Forget dieting. Your goal is long-term success.

Diets usually do not work, because you are quickly changing your eating habits and giving up foods for fast weight loss. Most people go hungry or develop intense cravings and give in. Dieting often results in overeating and regaining the lost weight - often times adding a few more pounds to boot.
